Sober Line-Following
This is everything we tried...
...before we discovered that it wasn't really our problem, but a problem with the machine's sensor 2.
Day 6 was a struggle as Casey (http://semorerobots.blogspot.com) and I tried program after program to make the sciborg follow a line without jiggling or sweeping back and forth, and without just making it go in a circle. Our first obstacle came when we tried to get sensor 2 to consistently show us numbers so that we could set our program right. Once we got what we thought were accurate numbers, when we tested the robot it would be an utter failure. This happened over and over as we tried to replace the reflectance sensors and try different resistances.
We finally got something close to a working sciborg in the last ~15 minutes of class when we tried putting sensor 2 into the sensor 4 port. All of our problems were solved, and although the sciborg still had to correct sometimes to follow the line, for the most part it was quite straight. Considering the struggles we had with this project, I'd call our finished product a success.
